Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced Architectural Job Captain to join their client's dynamic team in California. This role is essential in guiding the development and production of construction documentation and ensuring project success through collaboration with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural practices and possess excellent technical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and production of construction documentation using Revit.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Architect to ensure design intent is accurately executed.
  • Coordinate with consultants, including structural, MEP, civil, and specialty disciplines, ensuring integration and consistency across drawings.
  • Identify, research, and resolve technical, detailing, and design issues in collaboration with internal teams and consultants.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with applicable building codes.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, documentation, and related organizational tasks.
  • Assist with project planning, design coordination, and communication with contractors as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with California Building Codes, city requirements, and other regulatory standards.
  • Support junior team members with technical direction and quality control.

Qualifications

  • B.Arch or M.Arch from a NAAB-accredited program.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in an architectural practice.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit; additional software (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SketchUp, Enscape) a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing comprehensive construction documents for residential, mixed-use, or commercial projects.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and time-management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with internal teams, consultants, and clients.
  • Detail-oriented problem solver who can anticipate issues before they arise.
  • Solid understanding of building materials, detailing, and construction methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of California Building Codes (CBC) and local permitting processes.

Required Work Hours

Monday to Friday, first shift.

Additional Details

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $130,000 per year.
